    As a Professor and supervisor for doctor candidate at Institute of Botany, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, I graduated from Lanzhou University, China and got a Bachelor degree in 1984, from Institute of Botany, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China and got an Master degree in 1990, and from Biological Institute, Graduate School of Science, Tohoku University, Japan in 1993 and got a Doctor of Science degree. I was an employee at Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University (formerly Northwestern Institute of Botany, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shaanxi, Province, China) from 1980 to 1984, at Institute of Botany, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China from 1990 to 1995 and from 2001 to present respectively, at Post-Doctor Station, Institute of Botany, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China from 1999 to 2001. I was awarded as The Third Prize of Achievement of Chinese Academy of Sciences P. R. China in1998 and as the Excellent Post-Doctor from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001 and 2006, respectively. For the present scientific post, I was appointed as Head of Chinese Legume Database & Information Service (CLDIS) [One of the 12 Regional Centers of International Legume Database & Information Service (ILDIS)], Nomenclature Committee for Vascular Plants (NCVP), Associate Editor for Journal of Japanese Botany, Associate Editor for Plant Systematics and Evolution (2014-2017), Subject Editor for Nordic Journal of Botany, Editorial Board Member for Species Catalogue of China, Editorial Board Member for Medicinal Flora of China (Editor-in-Chief for the Fifth Volume), Editorial Board Member for Chinese Bulletin of Botany, Editorial Board Member for Life Word, and Internal Trainer of National-level Continued Education Base for Technical Professionals, Beijing Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. During the courses of scientific researches, one new tribe, one new section, 20 new species, three new names, thirty seven new combinations and 121 new synonyms were published by myself. Untill now, more than 80 articles or monographs were published.

    Main achievement

    1. To complete the book “Legumes of China”in 2007 and recognize three subfamilies, 33 tribes, 180 genera, and 1670 species of Leguminosae in China.

    2. To complete monograph “Systematics of Chinese Oxytropis” in 2000 and confirm a new taxonomic system for Oxytropis including three subgenera and 20 sections. Awarded as the Excellent Post-Doctor from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001 and 2006, respectively

    3. To complete “A taxonomic revision of Pueraria DC. (Leguminosae)” and other projects and exploit and utilize the natural resources

    4. To compile more or less 600 species of Leguminosae for Flora of Pan-Himalayas

    5. During the courses of scientific researches, one new tribe, one new section, 20 new species, three new names, thirty seven new combinations and 121 new synonyms were published by myself. Untill now, more than 80 articles or monographs were published.

    6. To present lectures on “The Principles and Methods in Plant Taxonomy”, “Botanical Latin”, and “International Code of Nomenclature for Algae, Fungi, and Plants” and popularize scientific knowledge.
